Instrumenta & Orbis Motus

During Autumn 2015/Spring 2016 I was the Project Manager for Instrumenta, a Young Producers initiative to devise and stage two innovative concerts by the City of London Sinfonia at Lincoln Drill Hall for an audience of KS3 Y 7 & 8 students. A team of 12 Young Producers were selected from 4 Lincoln secondary schools and from the members of ‘Fretless’, one of LOV (Lincolnshire One Venue)’s Decision-Making Groups. Partners included the University of Lincoln, Orchestras Live, Lincoln Drill Hall and theatre designer Giuseppe Belli. The project was led by Lincolnshire Music Service.

During Autumn 2016 / Spring 2017 we delivered a new project this time in Grantham and this time called ‘Orbis Motus’. The group of young people (all boys) created a brilliant narrative about a dastardly plot to rid the world of music, and our hero Amadeus Fink who thwarted him! The project was also led by Lincs Music Hub with partners the Guildhall Arts Centre, LOV Young People’s Programme, Orchestras Live and Manchester Camerata. The project culminated in 2 special  concerts at St Wulfram’s Church in Grantham in March 2017.
